Thermal spraying

Thermal spraying is a technique for coating objects with molten or semi-molten materials. This is done by expanding the thermal spray material by heating it with gas, etc., causing it to impact the target material at high speeds and coat it, forming a film. We can spray onto substrates a wide variety of materials such as metals, ceramics, cermets, and plastics.

Features of thermal spraying

Thermal spraying can add to substrates various features (adding value) such as corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance by modifying their surfaces.

Changing surface properties

Almost free from deterioration

・Conveyer rolls for steel making
・Pump plunger
・Heavy construction equipment in corrosive environments
・Switchboards, etc. in corrosive environments
・Parts for thermal power plants
・Taphole tip nozzle

Manufacturing process

We can recommend suitable manufacturing processes according to your usage environments and demand characteristics.

Quality and environment controls

In order that we can provide even better value to our customers, the Himeji thermal spraying plant, our main plant for thermal spraying, has acquired ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 certifications. While our acquisition of these certifications will give our customers peace of mind, at the same time we will make efforts to improve quality and our environments continuously by following the PDCA cycle, which is a key ISO concept.
